Banjo - Repo Tubaphone #3
(Made by John Flory)

Starting bid $1,300

In 1989-1990, John Flory of Olympia, WA made this banjo when he was hanging out with John Gough, a respected banjo maker and restoration specialist.  Here's what John Flory said about making it:  "Gough made me clean up a grotesque 1920s tubaphone tenor rim, 11-13/16.  After taking it apart in pieces, cleaning, and putting it all back together, Gough handed me a neck blank to profile for a reproduction neck. When I brought that back to him, he ended up with more chores: here’s the inlay all cut out.  You route out the fingerboard/peghead and put in the MOP."  Did that, so Gough let me scratch some on the fingerboard, as well as carve some on the heel. Then Gough took control and really did all the engraving as well as carved over his work, thankfully, for what you now see.  So overall: all the “scut-work” is Flory's; all the artistry is Gough’s.  100% of the proceeds of this money goes to running this festival.

Banjo - Tackhead
(Made by Eric Prust)

Starting bid $250

This banjo was made in 2019 by Eric Prust of Sequim, WA.  There are ONLY THREE LIKE IT ON THIS PLANET!  It has nylgut strings, deep oak rim, and quilted maple for the neck. The hardware is hand-made. It comes with two extra bridges.  This banjo is to be tuned low just like it was played in the old days.  Donated to the festival from John & Kris Flory as Eric asked them to find it a good home; John thinks YOUR home will do fine!  100% of the proceeds of this money goes to running this festival.
